This week we will be focusing on the long vowel sounds 'a' saying 'ai' and 'u' saying 'yoo'. They are sneaky and try to trick us and as I always say to you in class - yes English can be tricky and confusing. First we learn the sound one way and then we have to learn that it sometimes makes a different sound! But I know you can do this!

I know that for some, using online activities can be challenging so I have again ensured that all activities can be paper based. The stories can be read from the screen to save printing ink. I have been made aware that the PowerPoint presentations do not work as they should with some versions of the software. I have therefor also put the presentations as PDF files below.

Please continue to use Espresso phonics using the  previous progression guidance and Nessy to help your child practice and consolidate learning. If using only the online resources for your child's phonic home learning, please try and cover the weeks focused phonemes to ensure consistency in coverage.
