We are partitioning numbers this week which a skill we learnt at the start of term.

Don't forget you are aloud to partition your 10s and 1s into different groups

e.g. 46 = 40 + 6

46 = 30 + 16

46 = 13 + 33

Year 4

Multiply the numbers by 10. This is a skill we looked at in Y3.

Step 1 - label your number with column headings (T and O)

Step 2 - move your digits 1 column to the left

Step 3 - don't forget to include your new place value holder in the ones column
