This week we will be using the story 'Zog and the Flying Doctors'.

Monday

Read the story ‘Zog’. If you do not have a copy of the book, there is an amazing animation of the story available on BBC iPlayer. Alternatively there are a number of videos of the story being read on YouTube. In your Busy Books describe Zog. Include descriptive language for his appearance and what he is like.  

Tuesday

Read the story ‘Zog and the Flying Doctors’. Compare this book with the original. Which do you prefer? Why?

Wednesday

There are lots of different magical creatures in the story ‘Zog and the Flying Doctors’. In your Busy Book draw and label all the magical creatures you can think of and write about your favourite magical creature. It doesn’t have to be one from the book but I do want you to write about their special abilities, powers, what they look like and why you like them.

Thursday

You are going to be a flying doctor. What will you need in your doctors bag? Imagine the different types of amazing creatures you may have to look after. In your Busy Book draw a bag and then draw and label some of the things you thing a flying doctor will need.

Friday

Now you have your bag ready and have written about your favourite magical creature I want you to imagine you are a flying doctor. Start planning a story about helping your favourite magical creature. What was wrong with them? What did you do to help them?
