This week we will be using the story 'Commotion in the Ocean'. If you do not have a copy at home then I have attached a PowerPoint and PDF copy below, along with a YouTube video of the book being read.
Monday
Read the story. The book is a collection of poems and contains lots of rhyme. Can you identify words that rhyme as the story is being read to you?
Tuesday
Read the book again. In you Bust Books tell me out of all the creatures in the book which is your favourite? Why? Start to learn the poem about your favourite creature in the book.
Wednesday
Practice the poem about your favourite creature in the book so that you can perform it to an adult. Maybe you could video your performance and send it to me for the website.
Thursday
Today I want you to think of as many sea creatures as you can and choose a favourite that is not in the book. You are going to find out a bit about that creature and start making your own poem that could be added to an Oak Class Commotion in the Ocean book. Think about what they look like, how they move or the funny things that make them unique.
Friday
Finish off your poems (in your best writing!) and illustrate it. Practice reading your poem to an adult.
