This week I would like you to make up your own Rainbow animal story. It could be a real animal such as a bird, snake or butterfly or you could choose something more magical like a mermaid or a dragon. The choice is yours.

You will need to plan your story and decided what is going to happen.

Monday

Who is the main character in your story? In your Busy Book draw a picture of your character.

Y1 children to include more detail to include what the problem in their story will be.

Tuesday

Make a story map for your new story.

Wednesday

Write the beginning of your story.

YR children to write at least 2 good sentences.

Y1 children to write at least 5 good sentences, remembering to use you adjectives (describing words) to describe your character and the setting (where the story takes place).

Thursday

Write the middle of your story when your character finds out how to solve their problem of being lonely. Who will the go to see for advice?

YR children to write at least 2 good sentences.

Y1 children to write at least 5 good sentences.

Friday

Write the end of your story.

YR children to write at least 2 good sentences.

Y1 children to write at least 5 good sentences.
